Get In Touch With Us

If you have any general questions or comments, fill out the form below and we’ll do our best to get back to you.

We’re always on the lookout for new writers and artists to work with at KCL, so if you have a pitch you’d like to send us, we’d love to take a look but there’s a couple things to keep in mind. You could refer to our FAQs below for submission guidelines.

I agree that my submitted data is being collected and stored.

    Frequently Asked Questions

We recommend looking at the work already published at KCL and the work available to read at the Khidr Collective for an idea of the themes, and perspectives we’re interested in. This is by no means, a constriction on the type of work we want, but more of a guideline.

That is to say, if you’re pitching a 3 panel comic strip, a short script with a portfolio of previous work is probably enough to give us an idea of what you’re hoping to make. But if you’re proposing a larger multi-page work, or an on-going, then we’d require a larger pitch document, with Sample Art too. There are lot’s of guides online on producing pitches, but generally, they require a longline, outline, plot summary, character bios and an art sample, though of course, build this out to suit your proposal. Jim Zub’s site offers a great look into what a pitch can look like.

Note that Khidr Comix Lab and its contributors may independently develop characters, ideas, plots, or art that have coincidental similarities to your submission. Khidr Comix Lab respects artists’ rights but reviewing your submission does not prevent Insight Comics from publishing comics that have similarities to your submissions and does not obligate Khidr Comix Lab to compensate you.

Please introduce yourself/your creative team and state why you and your project would be a good fit for KCL.

Please include contact information clearly in the pitch document, and where possible, links to past work/portfolios.

    • Fan fiction and fan works. Has to be original stories, I’m afraid.
    • Art or Writing Portfolios alone. This is of course good to have , but we’re looking for proposals for original stories.
    • No physical submissions please, only by email.

While we endeavour to read all submissions, we don’t have the capacity to reply to all of them. We will get in contact if we believe your submission is a good match for KCL. If it’s not, please don’t get discouraged, rejection in all honesty, is just part of the process.
